Usagi Yojimbo 25th Anniversary

Coming up in Usagi Yojimbo... UY #127 - The rabbit ronin joins a disgraced samurai on a tragic mission in this brand-new standalone tale! Since the kidnapping of Lord Masaki's son, clan retainer Inuyoshi has a tarnished reputation. The ransom was paid and the victim returned, but it was Inuyoshi's responsibility to protect Lord Masaki's son. Ordered to commit seppuku-ritualized suicide-to atone for his negligence, Inuyoshi has vowed to first recover the ransom, the Sword of Narukami. Usagi chooses to help Inuyoshi on his mission, but develops reservations, as success will mean death for Inuyoshi!

Stan has been asked to contribute a story for Marvel's mini-series, Marvel Underground. The story will star The Hulk in Feudal Japan as an oni samurai, to keep the continuity with Japanese folklore. The French revolution has begun! Check out the new French editions of Usagi from Editions Paquet. These are the "manga-size" Usagi books. France has the distinction of having both the largest (about 8.5 x 11") and smallest UY books. Editions Paquet is a wonderful publisher who is trying different formats to make Usagi as successful as he can be in France. Yes you read right...Lord Hikiji faces imminent destruction! In UY 123, Usagi meets some old comrades from the days he served under Lord Mifune. It was Hikiji who killed their lord, and turned them all into ronin (masterless samurai). The group have been trying to avenge their lord, but, over the years, their numbers have dwindled. Now they have the perfect opportunity, and Usagi is pivotal for their plans.
